HESI Event & UNEP Sustainable University Framework Launch
7 July 2021:
Higher Education Sustainability Initiative Event

7 July 2021, 9:00am - 11:00am EST - Register here! The Higher Education Sustainability (HESI) Special Event takes place annually during the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) in order to highlight the critical role of higher education in achieving sustainable development by forming the current and future generation of leaders, driving the research and policy agenda for both the public and private sectors, as well as facilitating multi-stakeholder collaboration at the local and global level. This forum also brings together key actors in the space to highlight the challenges, the opportunities and lessons learned to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This year’s HLPF will focus on a sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic that promotes the economic, social and environmental dimensions of sustainable development and on building an inclusive and effective path for the achievement of the 2030 Agenda in the context of the decade of action and delivery of sustainable development. Join us on 7 July 2021 to take part in the conversation!
Launching 8 July:
UNEP's Sustainable University Framework

Launching on 8 July 2021: UNEP's Sustainable University Framework
This framework seeks to define what it means to be a sustainable university and lays out a pathway to becoming one. The framework also outlines how sustainability can be advanced in each of the four core areas of a university, including: 1) environment & climate, 2) teaching & research, 3) people & society and 4) administration & governance. The framework presents a 4-step process to becoming a sustainable university and shares useful tips on quick wins and how to get started in this journey. Join us at the launch taking place on 8th of July at the EAUC Virtual Climate Conference.
