Internal Opportunity - Youth speaker for FAO webinar on Youth Innovation in Land, Soil and Water
FAO Land & Water division approached MGCY for co-organising a webinar titled Youth Innovation in Land, Soil and Water to take place on the 23rd July 2020, from 14.00-15.30 CEST.Â
UNEP MGCY has been asked to nominate one youth speaker to the webinar, those with focus and experience on working in Land, Soil & Water issues, including within the context of UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.Â

About the webinar -Â
The engagement of youth and young professionals plays a key role achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Today’s youth are more geographically mobile and technologically connected than any other generation. Moreover, they hold a capital of innovative and scalable solutions and ideas. In the context of COVID-19 pandemic, intergenerational exchange and cooperation is even more crucial to bridge past experiences with innovative ideas, driving the creation of holistic solutions.
The session will deliver lightning talks from young professionals on how youth has applied innovation to deliver solutions on land, soil and water for a sustainable tomorrow.Â
Objectives -Â
The objectives of the webinar are as follows:
Highlight innovative projects and approaches for sustainable land, soil and water management
Provide successful examples of the role of youth as key actors in international development
Explore ways to engage youth in the future of agriculture jobs, outreach and communication, and in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
Target audience-Â
FAO, FAO permanent representations, international organizations, youth networks, academia and universities and all stakeholders interested in youth, land, soil and water related areas.
