Steering Committee UNEA6

The Steering Committee of the Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP (CYMG) serves as the coordination team of CYMG, performing functions including governance, policy coherence, regional and thematic coordination.

Members of the Steering Committee, each responsible for a region or a thematic portfolio, coordinate their respective working groups and networks to follow UNEP’s programme of work.

For example, in the Extractives portfolio, the Thematic Facilitator would engage with UNEP’s Resources and Markets Division to follow the implementation of UNEA 5 Res.12 and ensure that youth perspectives are represented throughout the regional and global consultation processes.
