The theme for World Environment Day, 5 June 2020 is biodiversity — a call to action to combat the accelerating species loss and degradation of the natural world.

Over 42 percent of the world's population is under the age of 25. This is a generation already scheduled to bear the maximum impacts of climate crisis and environmental degradation.
The world’s youth has inherited a planet where nature is increasingly over-exploited. While young people did not have a say in how humanity treats nature in the past, they have a voice now.

These are unprecedented times. And we need unprecedented actions.
Actions where young people will now lead the way.

VIRTUAL YOUTH ENVIRONMENT ASSEMBLY
3rd - 5th June 2020
A youth-led Virtual Youth Environment Assembly (YEA), will be convened from 3rd June - 5th June 2020, with the aim of mainstreaming diverse voices from youth movements in the environmental and climate agenda.

In the midst of the COVID- 19 pandemic, the YEA will provide space for children and youth to report on how young people are coping with COVID-19 and adjusting to the changed modalities of environmental action, especially as we head into a #BuildBackBetter phase.

This virtual conference will feature trainings for youth, sessions with High-Level guests, ministers, etc. and is open for ALL interested youth to participate. Each day will cater to a different time zone:
Day One 14.00-17.00 UTC | Day Two 12.00-15.00 UTC | Day Three 9.30-13.00 UTC
REGISTER NOW to avail your spot!
