Every WED is organised around a theme that draws attention to a specific environmental concern.
The theme for 2020 is Biodiversity.
Biodiversity is threatened like never before. This year's theme invites us all to consider how we can make changes to our everyday lives to to draw attention to the need for restoring nature and reversing biodiversity loss.
youth task force
Based on discussions with the Secretariat, the youth constituency convened a Youth Task Force comprising 2-3 representatives per region who work closely with the UN WED team to incorporate youth voices and perspectives. Our task force was selected from roughly 200 applicants around the world and reflects a diversity of backgrounds and skillsets that will see maximum youth empowerment over the coming months. The document answers your questions on what to organise, and how. It even provides games, quizzes and visuals that you can directly use to organise a WED event in your community.

Let us know and we'll add it to our campaign! All youth-led events, whether local, regional or international, are welcome.
